St. Alphonsus in Limerick was the first Redemptorist Foundation in Ireland. From there the Redemptorists opened foundations in Dundalk(1876), Belfast (1896), Athenry, Co.Galway (1901), Dublin (1910) and Cork (1988). They continue to have a presence in each of those places.
