Today is Holy Saturday. We prepare to celebrate the Easter Vigil tonight.
Today is Holy Thursday when we celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper.
We will celebrate the Feast of St. Blaise on Moday, 4th February and the blessing of throats will take place after the 8am, 10am and 7.15pm Masses today.
Next Thursday, February 2nd, is the Feastday of the Presentation of the Lord. The Gospel of Luke recounts how, on this day, Simeon held the child Jesus in his arms and proclaimed him as ‘a light’ for all the world to see! Also known as ‘Candlemas Day’ it is traditional to bless candles on this day. We will bless candles at the 10am and 7.15pm Masses in Mount St. Alphonsus. Those able to attend can bring candles with them. Those who cannot attend are welcome to leave candles in the sacristy or monastery office beforehand, with you name attached. They will be blessed at the massses and can be collected afterwards.
Join us at 7.30pm on Friday, 16th December for the Lighting and Blessing of our Christmas Tree
